Data Governance
The Data Warehouse (InfoView) has a 4 tier governance structure:
Tier 1: System Responsibility
Vice Chancellor of Planning and Budget Peggy Delaney is the system steward of the campus data warehouse as a whole.
Tier 2: Data Responsibility
The stewardship of the data is a shared responsibility. The source system from which each data set is received has a system steward(s). Each source system’s steward (or their appointee) is jointly responsible for monitoring data quality, defining appropriate use of that data, and defining authorization requirements for granting access to that data.
Tier 3: Steering Responsibility
An active steering committee exists that meets quarterly. The committee acts both as an advisory and communication vehicle, but members have voting power on matters of prioritization based of business importance for proposed projects.
Tier 4: Project Responsibility
Daily operation and project implementation decisions are typically made by the project manager, in consultation with appropriate Data Management Team member(s).

Tier 2: Data, Steering and Project Responsibility
Budget Office staff make daily operations and implementation decisions.
